Meet The Manager
Nisha Murinjakallel Philip is General Manager at Newington Court.
Our home is situated in the village of Newington in the beautiful Kent countryside, on the outskirts of Sittingbourne. The home provides 24-hour nursing care and personal support to frail older people, people with illnesses and disabilities and people living with dementia, who are cared for in a specialist Memory Lane community.
We also have an exclusive 8 bed dementia care facility called Falcon Place, which is situated next to the care home.
Support at Newington Court is based on careful assessment, building up a picture of people’s lives that can contribute to regularly reviewed personalised care plans. In turn, these help determine clinical approaches, risk assessment, finding the diet that suits the individuals likes and dislikes and activities picked on the same basis.
Activities at Newington Court include exercise, quizzes, singing and reminiscence. It also includes one-to-one work (sometimes based around manicure, for example, which allows time to talk), trips out with relatives and outings for groups or individuals.

Our Activities Coordinator here at Newington Court constantly strives to mentally and physically stimulate those we support in our home. We have our own minibus enabling residents to go shopping, to the local garden centre, out for fish and chips, and for boat trips in the summer. We also have regular visits from the PAT dog, musicians and entertainers. We hold cheese and wine evenings for residents and their families and our residents attend services at the local school for Remembrance Day and Christmas. The junior school also come in and sing for our residents at Christmas. The residents also attended a Christmas Party held at a local Grammar School hosted by the students. |
