Charlie Knight is Care Home Manager at Beechmount.
I have been working within the care sector for 14 years. Over the years I have worked with people in their own homes, supported living facilities and in care home settings. I have had the privilege of meeting many fascinating people all with varying diagnosis between the ages of 16 to 101.
My Journey at Beechmount started in September 2018, as a health care assistant and over the years have had the pleasure of developing my knowledge to where I became the registered manager in 2022.My role as registered manager has enabled positive changes throughout the home. Working in partnership within our home and the local community together enabling the best quality care for our residents and a good working environment for our staff team.
Beechmount is a welcoming residential care home set in the sought-after Chelston area of Torquay, Devon, and is housed within a beautiful and elegant period building.
As a residential home without nursing, Beechmount offers a safe, supportive environment where residents can enjoy comfort, independence, and peace of mind. We pride ourselves on delivering professional, high-quality care while maintaining a warm, relaxed, and homely atmosphere.

We follow robust, deep-cleaning schedules across all communal areas, bedrooms, and high-touch surfaces, using approved cleaning products and best-practice infection-control procedures. These schedules are monitored and adapted as needed to respond to seasonal risks or individual needs. |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
