Meet The Manager

Dionne Pearson is Home Manager at Milton Court Care Home.

Hello, my name is Dionne, and I am delighted to be the newly appointed Home Manager here at Milton Court.

Although I only joined Milton Court in 2021, I have brought with me over 20 years of experience within the healthcare sector and have achieved qualifications including Nursing BN(HONS), Registered Nurse and Registered Managers Award (RMA). Working in residential and nursing settings, my previous roles have included a Registered General Nurse and Deputy Manager.

Avery Healthcare, owners of Milton Court, best stands out for their high standards, drive to provide the best care possible, commitment to staff, and dementia and well-being programmes. And Milton Court is no different.  Our home boasts beautifully landscaped gardens, a cinema room to catch a film in, and lots of small lounges to create the perfect warm and friendly environment.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Milton Court community.

Are you looking for a luxury residential care home in Milton Keynes? Milton Court offers a vibrant community of care that celebrates the lives of its residents in a spirit of companionship and fun. Our home happily accommodates couples and companions who wish to remain together as they continue their care journey and make new memories side by side. Visit our care home in Milton Keynes to meet the Home Manager over a cup of tea. We’ll be happy to talk you through the facilities in our nursing home in Milton Keynes and discuss your care needs.

A Thriving Milton Keynes Care Home

All three floors have been refurbished, and our dementia care community has its own dedicated suite. Our Milton Keynes care home is set back from the A421 Standing Way and is easily accessible from neighbouring towns across Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Milton Court is a thriving, companionable residential care home in Milton Keynes for those who need additional support during their later years. Our focus is always on the individual needs of our residents and we encourage relatives and friends to be as involved as much as possible. Our Facebook page is alive with the comments and support of loved ones. We love to listen and our emphasis on life stories and their incorporation into care programmes is a feature of our care community. Listening to the residents reminiscing is always fascinating and sparks off many a conversation. It truly is a pleasure to learn about their interests.

Our spacious bedrooms come with en-suite wet rooms and TVs, and the lounges, scattered with colourful throws and rugs, make inviting spaces for residents, friends and family to enjoy. There’s always a place for a cosy chat – one to one conversations are a favourite activity – or for getting together in a communal activity. Our coffee lounge is inviting too, and offers a lovely place for residents to take their morning drink, often with guests, after which they might use our garden for their morning constitutional and build up an appetite for lunch.

For those who need just a short break, we can offer short term respite care in Milton Keynes for a week’s stay, or longer. To find out more about our respite care services, get in touch with our friendly team. To see what we get up to you might want to view our dedicated Facebook page that is kept up to date with all the activities and goings on, or contact us for more details. What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Avery Healthcare has always made the health and safety of our residents and staff a priority, and the Covid-19 pandemic has required us to raise our exacting standards to even higher levels. That is why we are taking the innovative step to introduce a cleaning system into our care homes that is already proven to kill 99.9% of viruses, including MRSA, e-Coli, norovirus and the SARS virus (which is similar to Cov-2, which causes Covid-19).

Avery is now leading in the care sector with the testing of an established cleaning system that refreshes and sanitises a bedroom in less than an hour, with a larger capacity variant addressing communal areas. Keeping both areas clean in this way will be an effective method in how Avery care homes manage their environments, to keep them as virus and bacteria-free as possible.

All Avery homes are now equipped with Topaz Machines ready for when we can allow visiting into the homes. The system hosts two units, one larger which dispenses hand sanitiser to visitors upon arrival and exit; it also provides an important messaging display screen to advise visitors of the latest news, and the other, a smaller screen, which operates as a thermal checker so that we can support temperature checks of those entering the building. Yet another fantastic piece of technology that provides relatives with safer, more efficient visits with their loved ones.

As we’ve learned during this pandemic, we are all in this together. We want our residents, staff, and their respective families to know that when they are in an Avery care home, that it is one of the safest and cleanest places to be. We also want relatives to be confident that their loved ones are being cared for in the best possible way, and for anyone in the position of placing a loved one in to care, to have the peace of mind that an Avery home will be a clean and safe haven.

Avery Healthcare has invested in outdoor garden ‘visitor pods’

The pods, are a garden room specifically designed to facilitate safe face-to-face contact with relatives and visitors. Each pod contains a floor to ceiling partition screen and a hands-free intercom so that communication is clear and safe for use. They are fitted with internal electrics and two, low-surface temperature electric panel heaters – suitable for these winter months.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

At Milton Court Care Home we put an emphasis on grasping life with both hands. Dancing round with umbrellas might not be for everyone, but we can guarantee that there will be something of interest to suit all tastes. Our Well-being Coordinators put on a full programme that also includes regular visits by local Milton Keynes schools and other groups.  Here is just a selection of what we do:

  • Singing along with Sinatra songs
  • Portrait painting
  • Making chocolate brownies
  • Going out to Stowe House and Bletchley Park
  • Growing strawberries and tomatoes
  • Keeping fit the chair way
  • Petting ponies

Where well-being is concerned, we make sure we cater for mind, body and soul. Our minibus is always on hand to take residents out and about. Milton Keynes Museum is a favourite, as is Sunday lunch down the pub or just getting out into the Buckinghamshire countryside. We take technology in our stride too and as we’ve got Wi-Fi throughout the home (and people who know how to work it) we can keep in touch with loved ones far away through Skype. Any relative or friend who would like to join us is most welcome. The more the merrier at our Milton Keynes nursing home!
