Merryfield nursing care home is a Cotswold manor house built in 1922. It has since been tastefully converted into a private residential nursing home for the elderly.

The atmosphere is informal and friendly and the care is of course excellent. Both the care home and our staff are equipped to provide the very best care for residents with a range of needs, be they general nursing and care assistance, or perhaps care for a much more specific illness or ailment.

Our wide ranging capabilities are testament to the extensive and varied training our staff go through and the attention to detail shown in our ‘individualised’ care plans. We always strive to provide our residents with whatever it is they want or at least try our utmost to do so.

Located in luxury surroundings in Witney, Merryfield House nursing care home is conveniently located near to Oxford and the beautiful Cotswolds. As part of the award-winning group of residential care homes operated by Peverel Court Care, Merryfield offers some of the best care provision in Oxfordshire.

Peverel Court Care has spent decades committed to staff development and training with all three homes now managed by long-standing staff who joined the group over 15 years ago. They have demonstrated and developed the perfect mix of compassion and organisational efficiency. Our most recent home manager, who took up post in 2017, joined the company in 2004 as a Healthcare Assistant. The group’s Quality Assurance Manager joined the group as a nurse at Merryfield House in 1998. This ability to retain staff in a sector renowned for high employee turnover is a reflection of the high value we place in our team.

Activities Are So Important

We have a lively activities coordinator who arranges a varied programme of events and outings, including visits to local stately homes in Oxford and the Cotswolds, drama therapy, musical entertainment, Wii physiotherapy (enjoyed by the younger carers too!) and the more earthy pursuits of helping our garden to look as wonderful as it does. Some of our residents simply prefer Vivaldi, a glass of red wine and a good book!
