Kelly Champkin is Manager at Laurel Court (Didsbury).

I have been the registered manager at laurel court for the last four years. I started to work in care in 2008 and found great satisfaction caring and making a difference to others. I started as a Care Worker and gradually progressed to a home manager in 2013.

At Laurel Court, we provide residential, residential dementia and general nursing care for our 91 residents, in homely en suite accommodation.

Situated in beautiful gardens, it’s a wonderfully calm and welcoming space, where our passionate team deliver personalised care in a warm, supportive and friendly environment. We also offer short-term respite care.

We have large gardens and patio areas, which are perfect for relaxing in the sunshine. We also have a cinema room, a hair salon for a spot of pampering and our sensory room offers a calming quiet place.

Description

We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled. 

All our bedrooms have a full en suite wet room, with toilet and sink. Some rooms enjoy lovely garden views and there’s WiFi throughout the home.

We have a call system which can be operated by a hand control or a pendant depending on personal preference. All floors are secured by keypad coding to ensure that residents are safe and secure at all times.
