Meet The Manager

Louise is General Manager at Langham Court.

I’m a fully-qualified nurse and honed my skills with hospital experience; I’m honoured to be part of this team and incredibly proud of the fact that in addition to staying at the forefront of all medical and care advances, we’re dedicated to supporting the emotional wellbeing of the people living here, as it’s equally as important.

Choosing care is a tough decision, whether you’re looking for yourself or a loved one, and I’m here to make the process as straightforward as possible for everyone involved.

Louise

Hello and welcome to the Huntington & Langham Estate in Hindhead, where you’ll find two specialist family-run care homes offering high-quality residential, nursing and dementia care surrounded by 30 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland. Our story started over 40 years ago here in this lovely village in Surrey, and we have touched the lives of many people since, combining our traditional values with modern methods of nursing.

If your loved one has been diagnosed with dementia and it’s no longer safe for them to continue living at home as their symptoms progress, let our family look after yours, as our expert care team is here to help. We’re an award-winning, specialist home for dementia care with an ‘Outstanding’ rating, which is awarded to less than 1% of care homes in the country. With family values at the heart of what we do, we work hard to preserve our residents’ dignity, treat every resident with respect and promote independence wherever possible.

Whether it’s you or a loved one in need of a helping hand in later life, our family is here to take the pressure off yours, all the while caring for the people who live here with compassion and dignity. We offer expert, high-quality, holistic care in a home from home in stunning surroundings, close to the towns of Guildford, Goldalming, Farnham and Haslemere and the villages of Liphook, Bramshott, Grayswood, Hindhead and Grayshott. Our Building and Facilities

Langham Court was built as a specialist dementia care home in 2013 within our 30 acre site.  The building was constructed into a slope, giving it two ground floors so that people living on both levels benefit from access to the beautiful gardens, along with stunning views of the horse fields and forest through their floor-to-ceiling windows. Its grass-covered roof helps it to seamlessly blend into its surroundings, complementing the natural landscape.

Langham Court was designed to operate with pioneering dementia care in the form of the Butterfly Household Approach; this evidence-based approach makes a real difference to the lives of people with dementia and enables us to provide award-winning dementia care, allowing people to live here as they would at home but within a safe environment.

We have 28 en-suite bedrooms dedicated to taking care of those affected by dementia, and with nurses and carers in the home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, always willing to go the extra mile, your loved one will never be far away from the care that they need.

There is also an onsite hairdressing salon, communal lounges, a dining room where residents can enjoy home-cooked meals, an activities room and lovely gardens overlooking the horse fields, so there’s always something to do and see here.

Activities Are So Important

Our care is based on the Butterfly Household Approach, which has been proven to make a real difference to the quality of residents’ lives. It’s all about being person-centred, helping our residents to carry on living life how they want to and really feel alive again – and as our service was rated as ‘Outstanding’ in our latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission, we believe this really illustrates how high the quality of care available here really is.

Outside each resident’s door, there’s a personalised memory box to aid memory and stimulate discussion, which we like to see as individual celebrations of people’s lives.
