Meet The Manager
Joy Cagande is Manager at Abbotsleigh Dementia Nursing and Residential Care Home.
I have been part of the Abbotsleigh team since 2015 and it is a privilege to now lead such a dedicated and compassionate group of colleagues.
At Abbotsleigh, we are committed to providing high quality, person-centred care in a safe and homely environment. Our focus is always on ensuring that each resident feels valued, respected and supported according to their individual needs.
Welcome to Abbotsleigh Care Home in Kent; our nursing and dementia Care Home is located just a mile from the picturesque village of Staplehurst on the outskirts of Maidstone.
As part of a group of Care Homes, we are extremely proud of our caring, supportive culture which embodies empathy, equity, professionalism and continuous improvement. Abbotsleigh Care Centre is spacious and bright with a modern, yet traditional feel and décor throughout. All visitors to the Home are welcomed into a large reception area with relaxed seating and refreshments. You will notice straight away the wonderful wall art and decorations on display, most of which have been created by our residents. This personal touch helps give Abbotsleigh the charm and character that’s evident throughout the Home. Our lounge areas are large and sunny, with stunning floor to ceiling windows and comfortable seating. These communal areas are perfect for enjoying some relaxation time or activities, and along with two separate dining rooms, our residents have every opportunity to join in with social events or partake in their own interests and hobbies. |

Bedrooms and en-suites have been decorated to a very high standard and we help residents to make their rooms their own, with furniture and decorations of their choice. Abbotsleigh is spaciously divided across two floors and lift access makes it easy for our ladies and gentlemen to make the most of all indoor and outdoor spaces. |

No two days (or sometimes hours) are ever the same at Abbotsleigh. Our Recreation and Well-Being team work throughout the week to provide a huge range of events and activities for our ladies and gentlemen to enjoy. We take time to really get to know our residents’ personal interests and hobbies and make sure that everyone has the chance to get involved with as many activities as they’d like. |
