Meet The Manager

Charlene Waldron is Manager at Holmwood House Care Centre.

Choosing the right home for you or your loved one is an important decision. At Holmwood House, we believe in providing the best and most appropriate care for our residents in a homely setting.

We do this by recruiting and retaining the highest calibre of staff who have a passion for the work they do. All staff will have a personal education plan combining mandatory training requirements with in-house training pertinent to the area they work in. Many of our staff have also obtained nationally recognised qualifications such as diplomas and NVQs.

We provide comprehensive care planning of a service users’ needs involving the individual and their relatives. Care provision is a dynamic and ever-changing process and requires regular assessment and evaluation of a resident’s needs.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

The original house was built in 1846 and was originally a private residence. During its conversion to a care home many of the authentic features of the house were retained and it has been sympathetically and tastefully decorated in an elegant fashion reminiscent of its origins. The main house has eight bedrooms all of which have fantastic views over the grounds.

A warm welcoming hallway balances modern décor with a traditional homely feel and leads through to a light and spacious lounge. Leading from the main house is a purpose-built ground floor extension which consists of 32 bedrooms. All of these rooms have en-suite facilities and are decorated and furnished to a high standard.

There are two comfortable lounges both of which have direct access to an enclosed garden. There is a dining room for those who enjoy mealtimes with others. There are also specialist facilities for bathing and showering.
