Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Introducing Fresh Living - A New Level of Infection ControlIn addition to the high standards of hygiene and cleanliness already in place within our homes, Ideal Carehomes has successfully launched an initiative called ‘Ideal Fresh Living’.

This renewed focus towards infection control is our direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic. From the frequent sanitising of all surfaces to frequent deep cleans and the hiring of extra staff to manage cleanliness, Fresh Living instills in our residents and their relatives a sense of safety and protection against the risk of infection. Each Home Manager and Regional Director perform regular routine audits to ensure that our high standards of sanitation are met.

Our modern, purpose-built care homes provide the perfect environment to implement natural ventilation into daily life. Large social areas along with spacious bedrooms and en-suite facilities allow plenty of personal space for each resident.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Air Filtration & Purification We are using air filtration and/or air purification devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Infection Screening We are using technology to screen for infections & monitor symptoms.
Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Regional Activities Executive

Catherine Goddard joined Ideal Carehomes in September 2016 and is Regional Activities Executive for the Midlands area. She covers five homes in this area and works closely with Ideal Carehomes’ other Regional Activities Executives.

Catherine started her journey in the care sector seven years ago, supporting people in their own homes. She moved to work within a residential care setting and found that she particularly enjoyed arranging activities for the residents, and seeing the benefit these can have. As Regional Activities Executive for Ideal Carehomes, Catherine works with Home Manager’s to oversee the various activities within each home. This can range from meaningful daily activities, regular pop-up restaurants and exciting trips out. All of which bring stimulating, purposeful, fun and creative things to do for our Midlands residents.

Kay Paul
Kay Paul
Regional Director

Kay qualified as a nurse in Nottingham and during her career has worked for the NHS and Private hospitals both in the UK and overseas. Kay has always had a passion to put the ‘person’ first and respect and encourage people’s individualism. Kay was looking for a company like Ideal Carehomes who positively encourage their residents to retain their individuality and embrace their idiosyncrasies – where the only routines are the one’s our residents set.

From nursing Kay joined the Nottingham Inspection Team and then transferred to the National Care Standards Commission which is now the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Once managing her first care home Kay I knew where her career was going to go and she has loved every day since.

Kay joined Ideal Carehomes in 2019 and as Regional Director oversees the running of Herald Lodge in Coventry and Beaumont Hall, Mountview and Woodthorpe Lodge in Leicester.
