Hannah has been the home manager at Hartfield House since we first opened our doors back in 2018, providing stable leadership throughout and many successes, such as leading the team to achieve the rating of Good in their first CQC inspection.  Hannah is passionate about providing the very best care for her residents and making Hartfield House a very happy environment for everyone.

Porthaven’s newest home, Hartfield House is located on a quiet leafy road in Leatherhead, a small friendly town providing easy and convenient links to London and the south-east, close to the picturesque Surrey Hills.

When life changes for you or a loved one, Hartfield House Care Home offers 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care. Care is at the heart of what Porthaven do best and every member of our hand-selected team is chosen for his or her empathy and dedication to the profession. Our primary aim is to provide independence, privacy and dignity for all our residents.

Hartfield House Care Home is an elegant and spacious place to live well, from our thoughtfully designed home that has a variety of beautiful living and dining areas throughout, to every modern and practical amenity. Each bedroom has an en suite wetroom and there are plenty of varied spaces throughout to relax, socialise, enjoy delicious chef-prepared meals or indulge in hobbies. There is also a cinema, hairdressing and nail salon and a café – making it a true community. A private dining room is also the perfect place for special family celebrations and the lovely landscaped gardens are perfect for walking, gentle exercise or even gardening.

In following our commitment to wellbeing, we have specialist leisure and wellness coordinators at every one of our homes, who compile a tailored programme of optional activities, from speakers, entertainment, outings and fitness.

All Porthaven homes offer a wide variety of exceptional care services for our residents, and we are confident we will be able to provide the care that you, or your partner or relative, need now, or may need in the future.

Every Porthaven home offers residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as respite care for short term stays, and this range of different services at each home enables all residents to know that even though their care needs may change, we will strive to continue to provide all of the care and support each resident may need at their home of choice.

When choosing a care home for themselves or a relative, most people hope to find a home which has spacious, attractive and comfortable rooms, a clean and fresh atmosphere, private single bedrooms with en suite wetrooms, delicious home-cooked food, well trained and compassionate staff, and enjoyable activities. In short, a home to provide the best care, where residents really feel cared for, safe, secure, happy and valued.

Every Porthaven home meets these standards but there are other elements that make a huge difference to our residents. The first is the attitude to caring: the attitude of positivity, of being genuinely interested in the welfare of others and wanting to help and assist. The second is our belief that happiness, smiles and laughter are essential elements of well-being which is why Porthaven care homes are probably the friendliest you will ever come across.

Activities Are So Important

Our Leisure and Wellness Coordinators work closely with residents to provide a programme of leisure and wellness activity choices and events seven days a week. Home life is a priority at Porthaven, and every resident receives a person-centred approach and an individual exercise programme tailored to their needs and personal goals.

Every Porthaven home has a dedicated ‘Leisure and Wellness Room’ and a daily programme for enjoying wellness activities, including Zumba, Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, iPad sessions, music, art and pet therapies, socials and clubs, inter-home bowling matches, art history, wine tasting and casino nights – to name but a few. In some of our homes, we also have gyms with specialist equipment for older people, and cinemas or cafés, all present to enhance leisure and wellness choices.

With so many well-being activities for body and mind, we also recognise that everyone needs some time to honour their spirit with relaxation and mindfulness for personal reflection, and our unique leisure and wellness programme incorporates opportunities for this.

As welcoming, homely and attractive as our homes are, a key component of Porthaven’s leisure and wellness framework is the need for our residents to continue to engage with life outdoors.

Our landscaped and terraced gardens provide the perfect settings for many leisure and wellness events throughout the year, including sporting moments, musical soirees, concerts, cocktail parties and charity events. Or just sitting or strolling outside and reflecting.

One of our most important highlights every year is the Porthaven Garden Challenge taking place amongst the flower and vegetable beds, which challenges the residents and staff to compete for some amazing prizes. Our gardens turn into a riot of colour and sensory experience with some interesting produce grown, floral creations blooming, and edible treats abounding!

With a fleet of minibuses and professional drivers, our homes also offer trips and outings every week. Our outings programme is extensive, and some of the recent venues chosen by our residents have included The Wallace Collection in London, the Old Trafford Museum in Manchester and the east coast. Many of our trips though are much closer to home with visits to farmers’ markets, shops, breweries, country estates, beauty spots and not surprisingly local pubs being an evergreen and popular choice for many!
