Meet The Manager

Shelley Sidhu is Home Manager at Hargrave House.

Shelley’s journey in the care sector began at 17, aiming to gain experience in patient care for a potential career as a drama therapist. However, her passion for caregiving led her to continue in the field for 17 years. Starting as an agency carer, Shelley steadily advanced to deputy Manager at Waterbeach Lodge through her dedicated work and experience.

Her primary focus is on ensuring the daily well-being of residents, a commitment she has carried through her tenure at Waterbeach Lodge for 10 years before joining Hargrave House in March 2024 as the Manager. She is deeply dedicated to providing a safe, well-led, and responsive service to residents and their relatives, finding immense satisfaction in making a positive difference in people’s lives.

Hargrave House is an original Listed building in three acres dating back to the late 1700s with a purpose built addition. The care home has 58 ensuite bedrooms, situated 10 minutes from junction 8 off the M11.

It is situated in the charming picturesque village of Stansted Mountfitchet in Essex which dates back to Saxon times. Although
the building is large and imposing, it has been structured into two wings, The Hargrave Wing housed by the original building and the Alice Grace wing added later in the 1990’s yet still sympathetic and in keeping with the magnificent original. The Alice Grace wing has been designed specifically to cater for those requiring dementia care. It is not easy to describe the wealth of features
contained in Hargrave House, so the only way to appreciate the building is by a visit. Suffice it to say that the high ceilings and wood paneling to the halls and stairs were attractive enough to be featured in the ‘Lovejoy’ antiques television series.
Within the main building is the old hall reception lounge leading to the TV lounge, bar and dining room. There is ease of access
throughout the building which is served by three modern passenger lifts and the Managers office is situated on the ground
floor Hargrave House side of the building by the main door

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

There is ease of access throughout the building which is served by two modern passenger lifts and the Manager's office is situated on the ground floor immediately by the entrance hall, centrally sited between the two wings.
