Activities Are So Important

Our two Activity Coordinators keep our residents active and entertained with a varied weekly activities calendar. Activities include: weekly external entertainment, baking club, knitting bingo, quizzes and games, nail care, armchair exercise sessions, therapy dog and animal visits and a Church service once a week, plus personal support from our Chaplain employed at Hampton Lodge.

Our residents enjoy seasonal visits from local school children and we make the most of any opportunity to have a themed event – including Easter and Christmas celebrations, Valentine’s Day, and bonfire night.

Award winning music therapy
Hampton Lodge is committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to help alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia. Our trained therapist is part of MHA's award-winning music therapy service which is funded by charitable donations. They spend a day each week at the home and interacts directly with residents through live music therapy sessions. This includes singing, playing simple percussion instruments or responding to musical cues in a one-to-one or group setting.

Chaplaincy and pastoral support
Hampton Lodge is proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain, who offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. Our Chaplain is in the home three days a week, providing a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate. Where appropriate, residents are encouraged to maintain links with local faith communities.
