Louise Van Dorn is Home manager at Grassington House.
I’m the proud Registered Manager here at Grassington House Care Home. I’m in the home daily, making sure the team feel supported and everything’s running smoothly — but you’ll most likely find me having a cheeky coffee, whether that’s in the conservatory or sitting in a resident’s room, putting the world to rights!
I’ve worked in healthcare for over 25 years now (which makes me feel old saying it out loud), and 14 of those years have been in elderly care, which is absolutely where my heart lies. I joined the Grassington family in 2022, and honestly, it’s the most unique and special place I’ve ever worked. The team here are amazing and truly cares about what they do.
Grassington House is an established family run Care Home. We provide personalised care tailored to the needs of our residents. We provide a relaxed social setting, with daily activities, a choice of home cooked meals and refreshments throughout the day.
Each week we visit our beautiful County market town, whether it be shopping, perusing the local market, going for a coffee or even a swift half! We want our residents to truly feel part of the local community.

At Grassington House we use digital care records. The home utilises the Nourish mobile system to log care notes, assessments, and real-time care plans. This centralised platform reduces paperwork errors and ensures staff instantly access detailed resident needs. Rigorous Auditing: According to the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the management conducts routine internal audits tracking accidents, incidents, and infection control. Staff Training: The team undergo regular staff training, giving them the skills to care for our residents safely. |
