Meet The Manager
Rita Kaur is Care Home Manager at Gledhow.
A current Registered Nurse, Rita has been a Care Home manager for over 10 years with specialist Dementia and Nursing Training.
Purpose-built in 2000, Gledhow provides nursing care for up to 50 people and goes to great lengths to fulfil all residents’ needs, both physical and spiritual.
Set in a quiet suburb of Leeds, the home remains well connected to the wider community and is less than a 15 minute drive into the city centre.

At Gledhow, we provide nursing care for our 51 residents, in warm and homely en suite accommodation. It’s a wonderfully calm and welcoming space, where our passionate team deliver personalised care in a warm, supportive and safe environment. We also offer short-term respite care. Our landscaped garden and patios are lovely areas to relax and we enjoy BBQs in the summer. There’s a hair salon which offers an opportunity for some pampering and we also provide massage and reflexology. |

We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled. All our bedrooms have an en suite toilet and sink. If your loved one enjoys catching up with the latest news, sport, chat shows or soaps, there’s TV in their room and we have WiFi throughout the home. |

The activities co-ordinator provides a full weekly programme - led by residents’ suggestions and wishes - while MHA’s highly trained and caring staff members work hard to ensure the right balance of privacy and company for each individual. Gledhow even has its own minibus to assist residents to get out and about. Our approach to care is a truly holistic one, always with the aim of nurturing your loved one’s mind, body and spirit. |
