“The team at Field House are incredible, caring and get to know the needs of each and every resident .The Home aspires to being one big family home where we support each other.”

Clare Batty

Field House is now under new management, ushering in a fresh chapter with a clear commitment to exceptional care, refined service and a consistently high standard of living. As part of a wider group of five homes, all rated Good, we bring proven experience, stability and a strong track record of quality across everything we do.

We offer premium nursing and residential care for a range of complex conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s Disease. Both permanent and respite stays are available, with care tailored thoughtfully to each resident’s individual needs, preferences and routines.

Set within an elegant Edwardian home, Field House retains much of its original charm, including oak-panelled lounges, ornate ceilings and a feature fireplace, while offering the comfort and reassurance of modern care. The result is a distinguished setting that feels warm, calm and quietly exclusive.

Residents enjoy a choice of beautifully presented social spaces, both inside and out, alongside a varied programme of activities shaped by our residents’ committee. For those who value privacy and peace, there are also plenty of secluded areas to relax and enjoy time in comfort.

Activities Are So Important

At Field House, life is shaped by choice, interest and individuality. There is no typical day here; instead, residents enjoy a varied programme of activities, outings and quiet pursuits designed around their own preferences and pace.

For those who enjoy time outdoors, there are regular walks into town for coffees, cakes or the occasional ice cream, along with opportunities to garden and enjoy the home’s outdoor spaces. Residents can plant flowers, herbs and seasonal produce, with home-grown ingredients often finding their way into the kitchen.

Inside, there is plenty to enjoy too. The library offers a calm and elegant retreat, while our in-house choir, newly launched book club and regular quizzes provide sociable, stimulating opportunities for those who enjoy being involved. We also maintain close links with the local church, whose members visit regularly.

We believe pets bring warmth and companionship to daily life. Dogs are always welcome, and residents enjoy weekly visits from Misty, our much-loved lab terrier mix, who has been part of the Field House family since the pandemic. We are also hoping to welcome a cat to the home very soon.

Outings are arranged for residents who enjoy staying connected to the wider world, whether through local history, scenic beauty spots or simply a pleasant day out. Above all, we focus on offering the freedom, variety and quality of experience that residents choose for themselves.
