Meet The Manager

Debra Wyke is Home Manager at The Malthouse Care Home.

People genuinely love the home and much of the team have been here for many years - it’s a wonderful family atmosphere which I have been welcomed into with open arms since joining in October 2021. I meet the early birds when I first come in at 7:30 and am out of the office as often as I can be, I like to get out on the floor to greet the residents and the team.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

Activities and entertainment are a core part of quality care.

We pride ourselves on offering a diverse, enriching range of activities and entertainment at each of our homes. At each home, a dedicated activities coordinator is responsible for researching and facilitating enjoyable activities for residents every day.

A weekly timetable of activities is in place at each home, supplemented by additional opportunities. We take on board feedback and requests for new activities or outings, so that residents are able to continue to enjoy the hobbies and pastimes they have participated in over the years.
