Retirement Living Types
There’s a lot of confusing terminology used to describe retirement living. We think it’s simpler to separate the nature of the development from the level of care or support you can receive. Refer to the Care & Support section to see what care and support is offered at each development.
We’ve categorised retirement properties as one of the following:
Retirement Village: A mid-to-large development of self-contained homes served by a range of onsite facilities and private grounds.
Retirement Community: A smaller community of self-contained homes with some shared facilities.
Retirement Housing: Individual self-contained living spaces specifically designed for people of retirement age with shared facilities.
