Meet The Manager
Simon Potter is Manager at St Georges Nursing Home.
Simon brings a lifetime of experience to his role as Registered Manager of St Georges. His interest in social care started at a young age when a good friend’s sister had complex disabilities; seeing the challenges faced by the family it sparked what would become a passion to work in the sector.
Starting on the YTS scheme, over 30 years later Simon has worked within learning disabilities, those living with mental health conditions and for the past few years in residential and nursing homes. Progressing quickly to a management position means Simon not only has experience in care but also managing a number of settings.
Simon feels strongly that life doesn’t stop just because the time has come to move into long-term care, in fact it is very much the start of a new chapter. Simon is committed to ensuring residents are valued and respected with open lines of communication with all those associated with St Georges.
Newly refurbished in 2020, St Georges Nursing Home offers dedicated nursing, respite and dementia care in a modern, purpose-built setting around a pretty courtyard garden. Operating under Allegra Care’s progressive household model, we strive to ensure that all residents are socially involved and engaged, with a varied programme of activities and excursions.
St Georges Nursing Home was awarded with the ‘Best for Wellbeing’ award at the Care Home Awards 2024. Allegra Care's CEO Helen Jones has made it her mission to transform the face of social care. Her vision took root at St Georges, which has fully embraced Allegra Care’s service philosophy through the Household Model of care.
