safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

All Care UK homes now have purpose-built internal or external visiting suites available which enable visits to take place from behind a sealed glass panel, using a sound system to assist with communication. Where Government guidance and local health teams allow, these suites make it possible to continue visiting even when we have a case of Covid-19 in the home.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Yes, our care home has WiFi in all our resident’s rooms.

Mobile Phone Network Coverage (mobile “signal”)

Our Team
Rozina Ali
Rozina Ali
Home Manager

I have over twenty years’ experience in working in older people’s care. My passion is caring and supporting older people to be as independent as possible. I believe in involving residents in all decision making so they can live each day in the way they wish.

We ensure families are involved in care planning, and loved ones are welcome to be involved in their relative’s day-to-day care if they wish to be. We work in partnership with families, and everything we do is personalised to individual needs and wishes.

I’m so proud of the Parsons Grange team. They’re very responsive and supportive – both to me, each other, the residents and their families. Together we’re determined that Parsons Grange continues to be the best care home in Reading.

Deputy Manager

I have worked in Care since 2012, when I started as a care assistant. I have since worked my way up to a senior team leader and maintenance. I am also a certified professional chef. I enjoy all aspects of running the home and I’m equally happy working in all the departments.

In 2017 I finished my university degree in Management Business Administration. I am currently a Project Manager responsible for building a dental Surgery.

All my previous experience help me to deliver excellent care for residents, and to give the best guidance and support to the team where I can. I am passionate about helping others.

Claire Usher
Claire Usher
Customer Relations Manager

I joined the Parsons Grange team because I wanted to work for a transparent, ethically driven company that puts people’s needs first. Care UK does that both for residents, relatives and colleagues.

I love doing a job with meaning, and I worked in a healthcare-related role before I joined the team here. I’m actually undertaking counselling training, including training to be a Samaritan in my spare time. I think it’s important to be a great listener and show empathy for people. I have a genuine desire and belief in doing the right thing for people. I think all of those qualities stand me in good stead in this role at Parsons Grange.

It’s a great feeling to leave the home at the end of the day feeling that I’ve made a positive difference to someone, whether that’s a resident, a family member, a colleague or one of our friends in the community.

Head Chef

My wife and I moved from America to the UK so we could be close to her relative with dementia who was living in a care home. When we would visit, I could see how well she was treated and how good the food was. This inspired me to make the change from working in restaurants to working in a care home.

Before joining Parsons Grange, I was a Senior Sous Chef at the Frontline Club in London. I wanted to work for an organisation where I could help people and now, I look forward to coming into work every day. My drive and passion for cooking helps me bring a smile to the people we care for.

Sukhminder Cheema
Sukhminder Cheema
Nurse Manager and Infection Prevention and Control Champion

I love working in care homes – I was a Senior Nurse in another care home before I joined the Parsons Grange team. I enjoy getting to know residents well and supporting them with their emotional and physical needs. The key attributes that a good Nurse needs are to be caring, compassionate, to have empathy, professionalism and excellent communication/people skills. Flexibility is key as no two days are the same!

I'm also the Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Champion for Parson's Grange. It's my job to establish and maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness so that residents, colleagues and visitors keep safe.

Angela Martins
Angela Martins
Nurse Manager

I’m a Registered General Nurse and joined the Parsons Grange team because I was keen to develop my experience in social care. When you work as a nurse in a care home, you can get to know the people you care for really well and make a genuine difference to their life.

I was also keen to work in a new home as part of a new team with the opportunity to set a high standard of care from day one.

In my role I think it’s important to have compassion and empathy, to treat people with respect, to have excellent attention to detail – and to be able to make decisions quickly.

In my free time I enjoy going to the gym, the cinema and eating out, and having nice holidays!

Baillie Coyle-Jones
Baillie Coyle-Jones
Regional Canine Relations Manager

My mum, Eileen, adopted me when I was eight weeks old in 2011. My full name is Baillieborough, after the town in Ireland where Mum comes from. My friends call me Baillie. You can too if you like.

I might have a few years under my collar, but I've discovered a new lease of life since I've been 'on the road' with Mum. Each week, we leave home in South Wales and stay in a hotel for a few days so Mum can do her home visits.

I always go with Mum to her homes. I'm loving seeing all the residents and teams in the different care homes, and everyone welcomes me like a VIP. My special talent is to 'break the ice' with new residents and families. I switch on the charm – big smile, tail wagging – and no one can resist me. Instantly, a new person will start chatting to Mum about their dogs and other pets they've had – job done, ice broken! I do one-to-one resident room visits on request too.
