Meet The Manager

Emma Lloyd is General Manager at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home.

Plas-Y-Dderwen is a purpose built care home in the peaceful village of Johnstown near Carmarthen.

We provide high quality 24-hour nursing and residential care with a separate dedicated facility for people living with dementia. We also provide a service for people with a physical disability.

We're proud of our socially active community which revolves around superb facilities alongside first-rate care.

Robust pre-assessment will be undertaken prior to admission to ensure that we have a full understanding of residents needs and preferences, this ensures a smooth transition to our care facilities. We also work alongside other professionals to ensure that the best possible care is achieved. We aim to provide a activity filled day to suit individual needs whilst promoting independence and individuals choice.

We take pride in supporting potential residents and their loved ones to make the correct choice when choosing a care home. Here at Plas Y Dderwen we can support all aspects of nursing and dementia care whether this be on a short or long term basis. The staff are fully trained to deliver an excellent service, ensuring that the residents that we support are of the utmost importance. The building is situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and is all on one level making it easy for wheelchair access.

At Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home, our Lifestyle/Activities staff endeavour to provide a wide range of activities that suit all residents' physical and mental needs. There are regular minibus trips to nearby places of interest, including visits to local beaches and shows. We also have a film club, gentlemen's club, arts and crafts club, with musical entertainment once a week. Activities are very important to the staff of Plas-Y-Dderwen, making the home a fun and active place for all the residents who live here.
