Jan McPhee is Home Manager at Marchmont Care Home.

Jan is the Registered Manager at Marchmont House Care Home. She has a wealth of experience in Care Home Management, also within Health and Social Care Sector and is also a Registered Mental Health Nurse. She believes passionately about the quality of service provided to the people who live here at Marchmont and in making sure that the care and support provided is always delivered at the highest standard with kindness and compassion. Here at Marchmont we pride ourselves on being able to demonstrate good outcome-based care and do this all through participation with our residents and their families.

Marchmont House Care Home is a private nursing home tucked away in leafy secluded grounds in the Inverclyde hillside above Port Glasgow.

With expansive views over the river Clyde from a large secured decking area outside, on the inside the Home offers a superior standard of care in a specifically adapted traditional mansion house.

You can feel safe and secure in the knowledge that our home meets all the relevant fire, health and safety, anti-discriminatory and risk management practices. Marchmont House has a smoke free policy. All the Home’s policies and procedures are available at all times for your perusal.

Marchmont House provides the perfect blend of traditional and modern, our residents enjoy Marchmont’s state of the art upgraded and newly built accommodation and facilities, while retaining the charming period features of our home which are so admired by our residents.  The Home offers three spacious lounge areas, a lounge/dining area as well as a large dining room; each is bright and sunny and provides an excellent location for meeting friends. 

The building is surrounded by landscaped gardens and an impressive decking area to the front of the Home.  Our secure garden areas are accessible to our residents and offer tranquil place to enjoy a walk in privacy or to simply to enjoy summer days with family and friends.

Accommodation throughout the Marchmont House is of the highest possible standard with carefully selected furnishings to give a sense of quality and attention to detail.

The bedrooms offered at Marchmont House are of the highest quality.  The majority of our rooms have an en-suite facility; each is spacious with an attractive outlook and is decorated and furnished to an excellent standard.  Furnishings are regularly renewed to maintain ‘as new’ standard.  To reflect individual tastes we encourage residents to feel free to have any articles of furniture, framed pictures and photographs in their rooms.

Entertainment appealing to a wide variety of taste is provided regularly.  There is a comprehensive daily programme of activities which are held within the Home and Marchmont House has strong links with the local community.  Concerts are held regularly including Christmas, Easter, St Andrew’s Day and other memorable occasions, not forgetting our national bard, Robert Burns.

Birthdays are celebrated with a party and you will receive a complimentary birthday cake and gift.  Private functions can also be arranged.
