Michelle Smith is Manager at Leys Park Care Home.
For the last 20 years Leys Park has been dedicated to the care of older people. Set in large grounds, Leys Park has an enclosed garden with an area specifically designed for the home by the Prince’s Trust.
Once the Northern Hospital in Dunfermline, the 64 bedded home has a unit specialising in dementia care and a separate unit focusing on the care of frail older people. Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
