Meet The Manager

Fiona Payne is Care Home Manager at Heatherfield Care Home.

Fiona is a registered general nurse, a registered learning disability nurse and has over 30 years of experience of nursing in a variety of positions. The major part of her career has been in nursing homes working as a registered nurse, a home manager, a regional support manager and an operations manager. Fiona has both professional and personal experiences of supporting people living with dementia and physical disabilities and believes that this has enabled her to have empathy with the individuals Prestwick Care supports.

Our home is divided into 3 units, catering for individuals with general nursing, dementia nursing and younger physically disabled care needs. The emphasis is on individual care.

Residents can relax in the privacy of their bedroom or in one of Heatherfield’s many communal lounges which offer a range of formal and informal spaces to chat with other residents, family or friends, and participate in activities and celebrations. Residents have plenty of space to socialise, relax and participate in activities throughout the home. There is lift access to the first floor. The gardens at Heatherfield are beautiful and have won numerous awards. The gardens are fully accessible to wheelchairs.

We have a purpose built kitchen and laundry facilities, hairdressing room and treatment rooms. All of our exits are secure. You can use any area of the home at any time. We put a lot of emphasis on the social side of our residents lives and we provide an activities programme which will take into consideration all of our residents’ views and choices.
