Greyfriars Court comprises 43 apartments together with a comfortable lounge and attractive dining room. The Court is located near the centre of Lewes, East Sussex, a picturesque, historic town at the foot of the Downs and only 12 miles from the coast. Lewes offers a wide range of amenities with a supermarket, post office, greengrocer, baker and chemist all within a hundred yards of the Court, and a library, leisure centre and two G.P. practices within a short walk.

The Court has very good links with local businesses and there are regular delivery services of groceries, wines and spirits, prescriptions and library books. The services of a visiting hairdresser, chiropodist, dentist and optician are all available to any Owner who wishes to use them.

All courts have staff who can help should you ever need to put together a care plan. They know the local specialists well, so can also help you to identify the most suitable, qualified people to care for you. You will need to pay for the services of your carers. Many courts are Care Quality Commission certified and a small number employ care staff.

At every court, a team of Duty Managers ensures that someone is on duty, on site, 24 hours a day. So if ever you need to pull the emergency call cord, you speak to someone in the building whom you know, who understands your needs, and can be with you in moments.

Greyfriars Court has a communal lounge that is the hub of many of its social activities. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are served on a daily basis together with weekly events from whist to keep fit. The Court Manager will be able to provide a copy of the monthly social programme. In addition to the Lounge, there is a communal conservatory available for use by all Owners. The Court also features a hobbies room where Owners can take part in a number of activities including board games, card games, art and craft. The hobbies room is also used for meetings of either the Court management company or local clubs and societies of which Owners are members.

Greyfriars Court possesses its own communal gardens, shrubs and planters throughout the courtyards and grounds, that belong to all the Owners and are maintained by a gardener and/or Owners themselves. A consultative gardening committee will be set up if sufficient Owners are willing to contribute to its work.

Greyfriars Court has its own communal restaurant/dining room that provides a substantial meal every day, usually at lunchtime. Meals are not included in the service charge but are available at cost to all Owners. Meals will be taken on a tray to anyone who has requested one and is too unwell to leave their apartment. Guests are always welcome and any special dietary requirements are catered for. Evening meals and themed dinners are regularly held at the Court and light suppers can be arranged if requested.
