Finavon Court is working within the government guidelines to help protect its staff and clients.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

With its lovely garden views, Finavon Court offers plenty of appealing spaces in which to eat, socialise and relax. The pretty garden, which is taken care of by some of our Residents, is a favourite location to spend time or enjoy the company of friends and family.

All our bright and comfortable bedrooms and living areas are easily accessible by wheelchair. Residents are invited to decorate their rooms with small items of their own furniture and treasured belongings so that it feels just like home.

The carers and Residents at Finavon Court enjoy playing an important part in their local community. The home encourages an atmosphere of fun and inclusion and runs a weekly programme of events, which includes talks and demonstrations from local people willing to share their knowledge and talents. Performers from the area regularly visit and entertain Residents with songs, sketches, singing and dancing, and members of neighbourhood groups, volunteers and other locals often drop in for a cup of tea and a chat.

Assisted by suggestions from our Residents, our home’s Wellbeing Coordinators organise a varied year round programme of things to do. Many Residents take pleasure in hobbies, including baking, writing, gardening, dancing, painting, quizzes, and playing chess. Some enjoy being a member of the Residents’ forum. There’s plenty to do outside the home too, and our specially adapted minibus takes Residents on trips to nearby places of interest to them, such as animal sanctuaries, the theatre, a trip along the Strathmere Valley or to a local festival, gardening and shopping centres.
