Donna Henderson is Home Manager at Driffield Manor.
I’m incredibly proud to lead such a dedicated and compassionate team at Driffield Manor. I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (Adults’ Management) and have many years of experience managing care homes.
I believe effective leadership comes from being approachable, positive and transparent. Good communication, compassion and high standards are all key to providing outstanding care and ensuring that all residents and colleagues feel valued and supported.
A personal career highlight for me was becoming a Registered and Commissioning Manager, as well as taking part in a two-part TV documentary called Crisis in Care with Ed Balls. In 2021, I was also honoured to win the Registered Manager Award at the Yorkshire and Humberside Great British Care Awards.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going on holidays and taking long walks with my dog, Spencer.
Driffield Manor provides round the clock residential and specialist dementia care on a permanent and respite basis.
The dedicated and well-trained team aim to create a caring and supportive community for residents and their loved ones. Residents can enjoy the quality facilities including two in-house bars, a cinema room, hair and beauty salon and bowling green.
The bedrooms are spacious and fully furnished with an en-suite bathroom. Outside there are beautiful, landscaped grounds and private patio areas for residents with ground-floor bedrooms.
The dedicated activities team organises a wide range of engaging activities and social events every week and there is a minibus ready for trips and outings.
