Christina Durnan is Home Manager at Astley View.

We’re excited to introduce Lancashire-born Christina, our newest addition to the Evermore family, who has taken on the role of home manager at Astley View. Her person-centred approach and passion for providing the best possible care are inspiring and perfectly mirror our values at Evermore. With 20 years of experience in elderly and dementia care under her belt, she will be spearheading the management of Astley View, our new Chorley care home. We sat down with Christina to find out more about her values and vision for Astley View.

At Astley View, we believe that life in a care home should be full of joy, connection, and meaningful experiences. Every resident has a rich life story, and we make it our priority to celebrate that. We take the time to truly get to know each person, learning about their past, passions, and the things that bring them joy. This helps us create activities and care plans that reflect who they are and what they enjoy most.

Our residents enjoy a wide range of activities that are designed to suit all interests and abilities. From creative arts and crafts, lively music sessions, and community outings to quieter moments like gardening or enjoying afternoon tea, there’s always something to look forward to. We make sure that everyone has the opportunity to engage, whether it’s in a social group or through more personal activities that bring a sense of comfort and happiness.

But we also understand the importance of calmness and residents enjoy spending time in our peaceful garden, reading in one of our quiet lounges, or simply enjoying the tranquillity of their room. We make sure there are always spaces where they can take a step back, unwind, and recharge.

At Astley View, we’re more than just a care home - we are a community where each resident’s life and experiences are valued and respected. Our aim is to create an environment where every person feels a sense of belonging and where every day is filled with opportunities to enjoy life to the fullest. Bedrooms at Astley View have been designed to be light and airy with the additional bonus of our signature homely feel you can expect across all Evermore homes. Whether you’re looking for a single occupancy room or you’re looking to move in with a partner, with a total of 90 rooms including interjoining companion rooms we’re sure we’ll find one that perfectly suits your needs.

What’s more your bedroom is fitted with the latest in technology including a flat screen SMART TV and the latest in safety measures and infection control, including nurse call bells, motion sensors and easy clean furniture. Attention to detail is our forte, that’s why we’ve made sure every aspect of your room has been created with you in mind.

 This is your space so feel free to bring furniture, pictures and anything else that will make you feel at home. On arrival you will receive a personalised welcome gift and a copy of the home’s guide that will help you familiarise yourself with the home and its facilities.
