Meet The Manager
Carmen Flueras is Manager at Croft Meadow.
I began working for Shaw healthcare in November 2018 joining Hillside Lodge as a Home Manager. Prior to joining Shaw, I enjoyed roles of clinical lead and deputy manager in three different homes, in the West Sussex area. I originally trained as a nurse in Romania my homeland, where I worked in a cardiac clinic for several years.
I really like that I can make a change in people lives and I feel so privileged, to care for a generation to whom life was something you can only see in the movies. It is very important to me that I get to know all the residents in the home. My office door is open to residents whenever they would like a chat or sometimes, they just pop by for a coffee with me. I really love my job!
Croft Meadow is a spacious modern care home which opened in 2009 in the West Sussex village of Steyning. An indoor ‘Gallery’ runs the length of the building linking the wings to the facilities and making the home easy to get around with also additional quiet communal spaces at the ends of the gallery. As well as developing friendships in the home we encourage residents to establish and maintain close links with their relatives, friends and the local community.
