Grace Rossi is Manager at Kingston Rehabilitation Centre.

Kingston Rehabilitation Centre is CHD Living’s brand-new rehabilitation centre in the heart of Kingston-upon-Thames. Here we provide both neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation. We are able to accommodate individuals requiring specialist nursing and tracheostomy care, longterm management of complex-neurodisability and rehabilitation of a variety of neurological conditions.

We have also introduced orthopaedic rehabilitation with a specialism of hip and knee surgery and post-surgical respite convalescent care.

Kingston Rehabilitation centre is a 36-bedded facility, all rooms are private with en-suite facilities. The centre is wheelchair accessible throughout with lifts to access all floors. There are lounge and dining facilities which patients are encouraged to use and a lovely courtyard and garden area.

Therapy facilities include a fully equipped therapy gym, 3 treatment rooms, an occupational therapy assessment kitchen and a hydrotherapy pool.

Description

Our teams are led by a Consultant in Rehabilitation, experienced in the management of long-term conditions and complex disability, and who is able to offer support, recommendations and guidance on day to day service provision. Many of the conditions that cause disability will require care and specialist input from experienced multidisciplinary teams (MDT). We take pride in having specialist skills and expertise to deal with complex issues surrounding disability, both for the patient and the family.

The Importance Of Meal Times

We offer a breakfast in the morning and two main meals during the day. Snacks and refreshments are available throughout the day and the evening, upon request. There are choices at each sitting, including a vegetarian and a healthy option with special diets catered for either for medical, religious or preferential reasons.

Activities Are So Important

An individual timetable of activities is designed with the multidisciplinary team. The activities for each person will reflect their personal interests and are geared for integration into the wider community.

Our support team work closely with our clients to ensure that a variety of leisure activities are pursued inside and outside of our centre. These include computer literacy, arts and crafts, live entertainment, games and outings to local places of interest. The activities chosen are geared to further rehabilitation and integration into the wider community.
