Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

All Care UK homes now have purpose-built internal or external visiting suites available which enable visits to take place from behind a sealed glass panel, using a sound system to assist with communication. Where Government guidance and local health teams allow, these suites make it possible to continue visiting even when we have a case of Covid-19 in the home.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Customer Relations Manager

I have qualifications in management as well as counselling, prior to joining the Brook Court team I spent a couple of years working for a Birmingham charity that provided rehabilitation services for people with brain injuries. I thought the job at Brook Court fitted well with my experience in health and social care. I love working in a big team where everyone plays a part in making a difference in residents’ lives. I’ve not worked in care homes before, so there’s plenty to learn, but I’m enjoying every minute. I’m particularly enjoying getting to know the residents and their families and helping them in any way I can.

The thing I enjoy most about providing activity based care at Brook Court care home is putting a smile on the faces of residents who live here. It is so important to me to make a difference and make their day a happy one, by delivering a varied programme of activities. I am a caring person, with a jolly personality. I think it helps to be flexible in this role too and be able to adapt activities to individual residents, depending on their needs and abilities. I get other members of the team involved where possible, which makes it a fun experience and creates a wonderful atmosphere in the home.

Head Housekeeper

This is a great home to work in, everyone is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is wonderful. I really enjoy cleaning the residents’ rooms, it’s a chance to get to know them properly and how they like things done. They know where they want things to go, and it’s up to our team to learn this. It’s my job to model the high standards I expect from my team.

In my free time I like to bake (I’m a qualified chef), gardening, and to be around my family, especially when my grandsons are around.
