Meet The Manager

Sasha Manalo is Care Home Manager at Bridgemead.

Sasha joined Pilgrims' Friend Society in February 2026, bringing nine years of dedicated experience in the care sector. Her background in high-pressure hospital environments has equipped her with strong clinical knowledge, excellent organisational ability, and effective management skills. She is passionate about applying this experience at Bridgemead, helping maintain the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and personalised care for our residents.

Bridgemead is a 32-bed residential care home by the river in central Bath, caring for vulnerable older people who require personal care or nursing. We are a home-from-home where 'family members', as we call those who live with us, are cherished and enabled to live fruitful lives in a loving Christian community.

Those who live with us are diligently looked after by fully qualified care professionals, working under senior care staff. Our emphasis is on ‘relational’ care which involves the person, their family and a dedicated key worker who determines the ideal level of care. We ensure everyone who lives with us makes as many choices and has as much control of their day-to-day life as they can. Relatives are encouraged to be part of the decision-making.

Whilst our homes have a Christian ethos, this is not an admission criteria.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

Bridgemead also offers an exquisite variety of outdoor spaces. This includes the roof garden, which is alive with well-tended plants and foliage. Its seating area creates a beautiful sun-trap in the summer months. On the ground level, the conservatory opens onto a patio with ample sunny or shady seating. Beyond this is a landscaped garden area with more seating. From here a pathway wends its way to the river, by-passing an interesting water garden before opening up to the river view.
