Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Since the early stages of the pandemic, our teams have been working to a pandemic plan which is updated regularly to reflect any changes to either UK or Scottish government guidance. This plan includes a range of measures aimed at both reducing the likelihood of new Covid-19 infections and reducing the spread of infections where they occur.

Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

All Care UK homes now have purpose-built internal or external visiting suites available which enable visits to take place from behind a sealed glass panel, using a sound system to assist with communication. Where Government guidance and local health teams allow, these suites make it possible to continue visiting even when we have a case of Covid-19 in the home.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Wireless Internet access (WiFi)

Yes, our care home has WiFi in all our resident’s rooms.

Mobile Phone Network Coverage (mobile “signal”)

Yes, our care home has mobile phone signal in all our resident’s rooms.

Telephone for external calling

Yes, our care home provides a telephone in all our resident’s rooms.

Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting.

With the restrictions on visiting during the pandemic, social media platforms such as these offer real insight when you are choosing a provider.

Deputy Manager

My career in the care sector began in 2008. I started out as a carer and progressed to senior carer, then I thought I’d challenge myself and study for a nursing degree. At age 46 I left Chester University with a BSc in Adult Nursing!

After that I became a surgical nurse at Macclesfield Hospital. Our ward became the Covid ward when the pandemic hit, so that was an extreme learning curve for me. When things settled down I moved onto a medical ward which became one specialising in older people’s care. Here I gained a lot of knowledge regarding chronic medical conditions.

I’ve always been keen to move into management, so when an opportunity arose at Halecroft Grange I thought I’d go for it, and here I am. I love working here, and the team is so supportive and welcoming to residents, relatives and colleagues alike.

Sharon Parkes
Director of Community Relations

As Director Of Community Relations the most important and rewarding part of my role is taking the families on the journey from their initial visit to Halecroft Grange to their loved one moving in, ensuring it is a smooth, stress free process. It is a very enjoyable position that provides me with a great deal of job satisfaction.

Regina Faria

I feel truly privileged to work in Halecroft Grange. I love working with residents and I am pleased to be a part of a great team of people who all strive for the same goals. I believe the activities team can bring joy and fun into residents’ lives, and our aim is to give them happy experiences and involve their family and friends where possible. Nothing makes me happier than seeing residents smiling.

Natalie Gribben
Reminiscence Coordinator

I have joined the team at Halecroft Grange with over 10 years' experience  working in a dementia specialist care home. I started as a Carer and worked my way up to Residential Lead, gaining my Diploma in health and social care management in 2018. I spent a year out of care homes working within the supported living sector, however my heart is with dementia care hence joining the team here. It is my responsibility to provide the reminiscence community with a strong, focused, and caring leadership to ensure the highest standards of person-centered care through the resident's journey while living at Halecroft Grange. I am passionate about the care sector and committed to my role here at Halecroft Grange as Reminiscence Coordinator.

I have joined the team at Halecroft Grange with 16 years' experience working in care homes. I began my career as a care assistant primarily working with older adults living with dementia. As my career progressed, I have worked as suite manager, taking day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of quality person-centred care and all aspects of team management. I have always enjoyed sharing the knowledge and skills I have gained through my training and experience with others.

I’ve worked for Halecroft Grange since 2013 as a Chef but began my culinary career over 15 years' ago. During this time I have worked in many multi award winning establishments in and around the Manchester and Cheshire areas. I’m passionate, hardworking and dedicated, with a commitment to providing the best possible service to our community and guests. It’s an honour to be part of such a proactive and productive team and a pleasure to help enhance resident’s quality of life.

Michael Shute

Head Concierge

I joined the Halecroft Grange team in 2018 from a background working in the hospitality industry. I worked as a Banqueting and Deputy Manager as well as in a concierge role. This experience and knowledge of customer service has been a huge plus in my role here.

There’s a fantastically warm and welcoming atmosphere at Halecroft Grange, and superb relationships between the team and the residents. I like to make residents and colleagues laugh. The great Ronnie Barker said that “making someone laugh is the best feeling in the world” and I believe that’s very true.

In my free time I don’t get much opportunity to unwind as I have two children! However, I do enjoy catching up with sport, including football and rugby.

We have a strong team here at Halecroft Grange, and everyone works together to support each other and do the best for the people we care for. One of the best aspects of my role is building a rapport with the residents, including helping new residents to settle in quickly and start enjoying everything the home has to offer.

I’m passionate about delivering the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort for residents and I’m proud of my team as they feel the same way. Residents and their families expect the best, and that’s what we’re committed to giving them.
