Head of Maintenance

Hello, my name is Tina.  I joined Rivermead in 2013 as the home's part time housekeeper before progressing to head of housekeeping, and I am now head of maintenance.

Maintenance is paramount when it comes to our residents, relatives and colleagues, and my role is to keep the home environment up to the highest standards possible, ultimately creating a safe and warm place for our residents to live and my colleagues to work.

I also manage and deal with contractors, keeping records up-to-date for our audits.  I take great pride in my work and strive to ensure that our residents have a lovely place to live and our staff have a pleasant environment to work in.

Administration Assistant

Sarah is Rivermead’s Admin Assistant, assisting the Administrator in the finance and the administration of the home. Sarah started working at Rivermead as a night Carer in March 2010, has enjoyed the role of 1-2-1 care assistant for a resident in 2015 before transferring to her current role in 2017 and since then she has become someone everyone knows and loves to speak to.

She is always happy and bubbly, you will always find her this way. She can multitask, answer the phone, count money, solve a staff members problem and have a full conversation with a resident all at the same time!!! Anyone who visits the home always gets a kind word.

The Importance Of Meal Times

Our catering team at Rivermead consists of experienced chefs who offer the best in delicious and nutritious food. Our Head Chef was proud to be Divisional Chef of The Year in 2015. Our menus change seasonally and are planned on resident likes and dislikes, feedback from resident meetings and local specialties. We hold full allergy information on all our dishes. Meals can be enjoyed in the dining rooms, lounges, bedrooms or coffee bar area. To get a flavour of the dishes on offer please see the sample menus below.

For residents that have difficulties in swallowing we modify the menu of the day so that is it a soft, palatable dish.  To support our chefs in producing these dishes, our hospitality and Chef Academy organises theory and practical workshops.  Working in partnership with Nutricia, our practical workshops involve all chefs and deputy managers learning about dysphagia and producing these modified menus. The chefs work with the chef trainer to prepare fork mashable and thick puree meals to the correct consistency, taste and presentation.  The deputy managers can then ensure all modified menus served are presented correctly for our residents.
