Meet The Manager

Sam Tatum is Registered Manager at The Green.

Sam Tatum’s career with Cornwall Care began in 2009 when she joined Penberthy in Newquay as a customer relations administrator, whilst also covering care shifts in the evenings and at weekends. She enjoyed the work so much that her manager recommended her for care coordinator training, which she successfully completed.

Deputy manager roles followed in a variety of homes until October 2017 when Sam was appointed registered manager at The Green in Redruth.

Why does she consider The Green to be special? “Because it’s an amazing building that’s airy, roomy and light with plenty of space for our residents,” says Sam. “We have a great relationship with everyone we look after, including their friends and family.”

One relative recently described The Green as having a ‘home from home’ atmosphere and that, says Sam, is exactly how it should be.

“We’re lucky enough to work there but it’s home for our residents. Their needs and comfort always come first.”

At The Green we support people with residential, dementia and mental health needs. We have key workers for each resident – to ensure a personalised care service – and we enjoy a lovely, relaxing and positive atmosphere. Our team are passionate and dedicated to supporting our residents and their individual needs. We also offer day care on weekdays between 9am and 5pm.

When residents join us at The Green, the first thing we do is develop a comprehensive care plan with them, setting out the care we aim to provide and how we will achieve this. We assess this plan on a continual basis, working with the resident to ensure that their needs are met.
