Meet The Manager

Aimee Bone is Manager at Willow Lodge Care Home.

I began my career in the care sector in 1998 when I left school, my previous roles include Cleaner, Carer, Senior Carer, Team Leader, Deputy Manager and now Registered Manager.

I joined English Oak in Nov 2020 as the Deputy Manager and proudly became the Registered Manager in January 2022.I am a Dementia Interpreter and have completed the Six Steps end of life care program, to share with my team. To develop their knowledge and deliverance of care, specifically, to individual needs and situations.

At Willow Lodge we are committed to enhancing the lives of those on their journey of Dementia and to support their families through the experience also.

I believe in the ‘home form home’ ethos and my managers vision is based on this. At Willow Lodge we want your loved ones to feel welcome, valued and safe whilst having fun too!

Aimee Bone

Tucked away on the Hampshire shore of Chichester Harbour, the village of Southbourne near Emsworth is an ideal location to enjoy life from.

This large, well looked after house is full of character. It feels and looks homely. It’s the complete opposite of a modern soulless building. It oozes charm and warmth; it offers large well-proportioned rooms and ample landscaped gardens. It’s a rural setting but not a remote one. The village centre is a short stroll away, the coast a little further, but near enough to enjoy the fresh sea air..

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

When you open the front door of Willow Lodge you’ll realise you’re in a very different kind of care home. It has a buzz. People talking, residents engaging. Life is lived to the full here. Depending on the time of the day, you might smell fresh coffee or home cooking. Our Chef provides wholesome nutritionally balanced meals of variety and quality. Most items are homemade and freshly prepared. Ask to see the menu: there’s always a choice and all dietary needs can be met.

Why shouldn’t you feel you’re in a good hotel, or at large house party with good friends? We’ve planned the ground floor to be the hub of the home, with areas for quiet contemplation with a book or a crossword, areas to watch favourite television programmes or DVDs, areas to enjoy a cuppa and a newspaper, to play a game, to enjoy a chat, to receive your guests and to treat as your own home. There’s even a piano here too.

For the safeguarding of our residents, CCTV are in operation 24/7.

Description

You’ll love the bedrooms. They’re light and airy and well proportioned, able to take some of your own furniture too if you wish it. Most have large windows and good views: the perfect place to unwind. The majority are ensuite, with good quality fittings, scrupulously maintained.

Each upper floor is easy to reach. There’s a lift. No need to worry about the stairs.

Houses of this age need upkeep, and we provide it. The building is maintained to hotel standards. When something needs changing or replacing, it is attended to fast. Most care homes don’t draw your attention to the furnishings or the upkeep, but we want to. If we care about the little things, you know we’re care about the bigger picture too.
