Clare Crowe is Home Manager at Snowdrop House.
In my career so far I have undertaken a wide variety of roles all over the country including care case manager for the East of England. I have also worked for the prison service, a wide range of hospitals and care homes, and people with challenging behaviour. I started work with Care UK in September 2014 and I believe to be an effective team member you need to have a positive attitude, be caring, respectful and approachable, and have a good sense of humour! My favourite part of the working day is motivating the staff to ensure the residents are their main focus of the day, creating memorable moments, laughter and joy. My biggest professional challenge so far has been saving a person's life and then continue to watch them grow and flourish. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, spa days and have a huge interest in guide dogs and caring for animals.

I was attracted by the idea of working for a big, reputable care organisation and by the fact that Care UK puts residents at the heart of their care. Before joining the Snowdrop House team I worked as a unit manager. I enjoy every part of my role as Deputy Manager. There’s always plenty to keep me busy. I’m passionate about delivering the best of care to residents and their families, including superb end of life care. This is something we plan for and focus on as it’s so crucial to do well. I enjoy supporting our great team to do their best work. ![]() Sharon ButlerCustomer Relations ManagerI’ve worked in healthcare for over 25 years and held positions in business development, planning and commissioning. With experience of the private, NHS and not-for-profit sectors, I joined Care UK in July 2014. Snowdrop House is a lovely home and I am enjoying working with families in the area to introduce them to everything we have to offer here. Choosing the right care home for a loved one can be an emotional and challenging experience. I get a huge amount of satisfaction knowing that I’m helping families with difficult decisions and making their lives a little bit easier. ![]() Rene ForemanHead ChefI really enjoy my job, Care UK are a great company to work for. They provide good training and I always enjoy the odd challenge that arises! The residents at Snowdrop House are great; it makes me proud to make a difference in their lives. I'm proud to have worked my way up to where I am now. I have years of experience working in catering alongside qualifications in food safety and strong knowledge of dietary requirements. A good sense of humour always helps the job too! Each day I look forward to coming to work to see the smiling residents , and best of all I get to work with a great team. ![]() Nicola CroweLifestyle LeadI come from a care background – I’ve been a senior carer, team leader and even a deputy manager in a service. I joined Care UK because I thought its care ethos of ‘fulfilling lives’ was fantastic. Being a lifestyle coordinator enables me to take a different approach to care. Going home knowing I’ve put a smile on someone’s face and they’ve had a good day is the best part of my job. I am passionate about music – I love singing – so I can bring that passion to work now! ![]() Nethaji WelikalaClinical Lead and Infection Prevention and Control ChampionThe role of Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Champion is vital in ensuring that colleagues maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the home, keeping residents and colleagues safe. They work hard to deliver the relevant training to the team, complete audits and keep on top of the legislation and guidelines. ![]() Louise HallsBusiness AdministratorI used to work in administration in the Police Service: I love working with people from all walks of life. I want to make a difference to people’s lives and feel like I’ve overcome challenges to help them. The new challenges here are getting to know my colleagues as well as all the residents and understanding how I can help them and their families. ![]() Dee TaylorHead HousekeeperI worked in another care home before moving to Snowdrop House, and I’ve also managed a commercial laundry. I joined the Snowdrop House team in August 2017 as I was keen to work at a new build. One of the best things about my role is interacting with the residents. I take pride in ensuring that all their needs are met, and I enjoy learning more about their lives and the things they’ve done, as well as meeting their families. I’m looking forward to supporting more new residents as the home grows, and helping them to settle in and to make their daily lives more comfortable. ![]() Ben CarterMaintenanceI joined Snowdrop House because I enjoy helping people and making a difference to their lives. I also enjoy doing practical work, so this job enables me to combine the two. It’s the perfect job for me! I love working in the care sector and helping people in any way I can. In this role it’s important to be able to think on your feet and prioritise jobs. It’s also vital to look at everything twice before you start a job and not to rush into things. Being kind, patient and considerate is important too. |
