Meet The Manager
Nicola Millar is Manager at Shelton Lock Care Home.
After beginning her career in the care industry more than 15 years ago, Nicola has gained great knowledge of general nursing, with a specific interest in palliative care.
As a qualified nurse and dedicated healthcare professional, Nicola has gained a wealth of experience in providing care to elderly people to help enrich their lives, leading to her progression as Home Manager.
Nicola closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that means they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
Located in a peaceful residential community, three miles from Derby, Shelton Lock is a friendly 32 bed care home, offering residential, nursing and residential dementia care.
Shelton Lock’s Home Manager makes sure that all Residents receive the kindest possible care. Our extensively trained team will deliver all the nursing, specialist care and support services that your loved one requires. Personalised care plans consider not only medical, personal and dietary needs, but also the individual’s likes and dislikes, religious preferences, and suggestions from family members that might make their stay with us that little bit more enjoyable.

The home encourages an atmosphere of fun and inclusion and runs a weekly programme of events, which includes talks and demonstrations from local people willing to share their knowledge and talents. Performers from the area regularly visit and entertain Residents with songs, sketches, singing and dancing, and members of neighbourhood groups, volunteers and other locals often drop in for a cup of tea and a chat. |
