Meet The Manager

Bindu Krishnan is Home Manager at Rushden Park.

Situated in the heart of Rushden, MHA Rushden Park provides nursing, residential, and palliative care for up to 65 residents in a serene environment with easy access to the picturesque Nene Valley and the popular Rushden Lakes shopping and leisure complex. Opened in 2000, the home is designed for comfort and ease, featuring wide corridors, inviting lounges, and spacious communal areas. Its beautifully maintained gardens offer a tranquil escape with patio areas, a summer house, and raised flower beds, perfect for relaxation and outdoor activities. The gardens also attract regular visitors, including squirrels, doves, and Dave, the friendly black-and-white cat, who is a favourite among the residents.

The care is customised to meet the individual needs of each resident, including nursing, dementia, palliative, and respite care, all provided in a warm, supportive environment. The team offers round-the-clock care, with families benefiting from flexible visiting hours and overnight care options. Life at Rushden Park is full of engaging activities, such as karaoke with Keith, pub afternoons, seasonal fairs, and outings to Rushden Lakes.

Its easy to understand why mealtimes are so important at Rushden Park. Like everything here the residents are at the heart of everything, and they play an active role in shaping the menus, ensuring meals reflect their tastes, preferences, and traditions.

Rushden Park provides a reassuringly familiar and homely setting where residents feel connected, comfortable, and cared for every day. Whether you’re searching for yourself or a loved one, for short stays or residential and dementia care, the team at Rushden Park are here to help.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Description

We encourage our residents to furnish their rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled. All our bedrooms have an en suite toilet and sink and some rooms enjoy lovely garden views. We have a call system that can be operated by a hand control or a pendant depending on personal preference. All floors are secured by keypad coding to ensure that residents are safe and secure at all times.

Activities Are So Important

We have a schedule of optional events and activities, helping residents to explore their interests and discover new ones. There are armchair exercises, flower arranging, arts and crafts, bingo, quizzes and church services. We have a dedicated chaplain and often invite local singers and musicians to perform for residents. We especially look forward to the regular visits from the local nursery and pre-school. With regular pet visits, and our chick incubators in spring, there’s never a dull moment at Rushden Park.

Our approach to care is a truly holistic one, always intending to nurture your loved one’s mind, body and spirit. This comes as part of our promise to you and our residents, to help them genuinely live a better, more fulfilled life.

It’s about respecting their individual needs, listening and understanding, and presenting them with opportunities and daily activities to keep their minds and bodies active.

Whether they flourish in a lively group activity or prefer to recharge in the peaceful surroundings of one of our quiet spaces, our home is brimming with inspiration and potential.

We support everybody’s individual choices, interests and hobbies and our passionate Activity Coordinators love keeping residents active and entertained. They provide a fun-packed and stimulating schedule for people to participate in as they choose.

There are arts and crafts, gardening, bingo, external entertainers and church services, just to mention a few of the things we get up to.

We also provide regular gentle exercise sessions and have close links with GP surgeries, district nurses and dentists. Our in-house hair salon keeps everyone looking their best and weekly visits from a local nursery keep us all young at heart.

We’re committed to helping residents make the most of every single day. Seize The Day is our unique initiative to support residents to fulfill their ambitions and make their dreams come true. Whether it be a ride on ‘The Big One’ at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a trip in a fire engine, or a visit to the swimming pool; we will move mountains to make it happen. Seize the Day is funded by charitable donations and is available to all residents.
