Alexandra House care home is a purpose-built care home offering high-quality residential and dementia care for up to 47 people. Positioned directly on the scenic seafront of Dovercourt Bay, the home provides both long-term and respite care in a warm, secure setting. Each resident enjoys their own en-suite room with a modern wet room, combining comfort with everyday practicality.
Once the historic Alexandra Hotel, the building first opened in 1903 and famously hosted King Edward VII in 1905. Today, it blends its rich heritage with modern care, giving residents access to breathtaking coastal views and a vibrant local community. With the nearby library and community hub just a short stroll away, there are plenty of chances to socialise and stay connected.
The dedicated care team delivers round-the-clock, person-centred support tailored to individual needs and preferences. This approach helps residents feel safe, respected, and independent, ensuring that they not only live comfortably but also continue to enjoy a meaningful and fulfilling lifestyle in a place full of charm and character.

We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled. All our bedrooms have a full en suite wet room, with toilet and sink. Some rooms also enjoy lovely garden views. We have a call system which can be operated by a hand control or a pendant depending on personal preference. All floors are secured by keypad coding to ensure that residents are safe and secure at all times. |
