Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

All Care UK homes now have purpose-built internal or external visiting suites available which enable visits to take place from behind a sealed glass panel, using a sound system to assist with communication. Where Government guidance and local health teams allow, these suites make it possible to continue visiting even when we have a case of Covid-19 in the home.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Team
Kate Slade
Kate Slade
Customer Relations Manager

I have over 20 years’ experience working in the care industry and even co-owned a care home support agency in Godalming for seven years. I also worked for Age UK and my previous role was managing care packages for an independent care advisor.

I decided to join Care UK because they are a great company to work for and provide consistent training and support. My role involves having a passion for care, showing empathy for everyone, and being a good multitasker.

Stuart Passey
Stuart Passey
Head Chef

Before working at Care UK I was a Head Chef working at large luxury hotels and gastro pubs. I joined the organisation in 2017 because I wanted to use my passion for food and service to help Care UK change perceptions about food in care homes. I want to make a difference to residents’ lives in how they enjoy and get the most benefit from food.

Deborah Taylor
Deborah Taylor
Business Administrator

I used to work in domiciliary care, and I joined the Pear Tree Court team in early 2018 as Receptionist. It was great to be promoted to the Business Administrator role – it’s an extremely busy job and one that makes the most of my organisational skills and care background. It’s always important to have patience and empathy in this role, and consider what families and their older loved one may be going through. I enjoy working as part of the bigger Pear Tree Court team, supporting residents and their families and helping everything to run smoothly.

Maintenance

I’m an engineer with nearly 30 years’ experience in the medical and care sectors. One of my previous roles involved designing, project managing and commissioning digital operating theatres in the private healthcare sector.

I joined the Pear Tree Court team in early 2018. This role appealed to me for the variety of tasks involved day-to-day, and for the opportunity to achieve great job satisfaction.
