Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our care home has WiFi in some of our residents’ rooms.

Mobile Phone Network Coverage (mobile “signal”)

Our care home has mobile phone signal in some of our residents’ rooms.

Telephone for external calling

Our care home provides a telephone in some of our residents’ rooms.

Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting.

Our Building and Facilities

Lambton House boasts 57 private en-suite bedrooms as well as a range of communal areas. The initial property was built in the early 20th century but has been substantially designed and purposely extended to suit the needs of our residents. Set in two acres of land with well attended gardens and mature trees, our large sensory garden has been developed for our residents to enjoy at all times of the year, particularly in the spring and summer months.

In August 2020 we created  and opened our heated Residents Rainbow Tearoom within our garden building. This is social stimulation and reminiscence themed meeting place set in our sensory garden.

In May 2021 we also created and opened the residents own garden snug bar “ The Pit Stop” also set in our heated garden building. The garden bar snug has been featured on Radio Newcastle and in local newspaper the Sunderland  Echo. The Pit Stop bar gives residents another social meeting place to enjoy cards , dominoes , TV and magnetic darts.

The bar was named with a nod of acknowledgement to our local mining heritage. Mining photographs and Davy lamps are displayed in the bar to aid reminiscence.
