Vera Moreira-Henocq is Home Manager at Knebworth Care Home.
There’s always a lot to do in my role, but by far my most favourite part of the day is when I walk around the home, checking everything is okay, and chatting to residents, relatives and my team.
I’m enjoying getting to know the residents and welcoming new people into the home. I’m looking forward to making the home one of the best in the area.
At Knebworth care home in Hertfordshire you can enjoy a superb lifestyle and quality care in beautiful surroundings. Our experienced and compassionate team provides residential and nursing care, and specialist care for those living with dementia. We also offer short-term respite care, and sympathetic, discreet end of life care.
There’s plenty to enjoy under our roof as Knebworth has its own pub, coffee shop, comfortable lounges, as well as a hair and beauty salon. Our activity coordinators also plan fun group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents’ hobbies and interests. Some residents find meaning and purpose from helping around the home laying the tables for lunch or lending a hand in the garden.
When your loved one fancies some quiet time, they can relax in their comfortable bedroom. Each room has private en-suite facilities, a 24-hour call system, flat screen TV and phone and broadband access. Residents are welcome to personalise their room in any way they wish.

I previously worked as a practice manager in a dental practice – quite a different sector to care. I was keen to gain experience in a different healthcare-related environment. I joined Knebworth Care Home in August 2018 as a receptionist & have recently taken on the position of Customer Relations Manager. ![]() Michael BrownHead ChefI joined Care UK and the Knebworth Care Home in 2017 because I wanted to work for a progressive care company. Previously I worked in a private care home. I’m really enjoying my role here: colleagues and the management team are great to work with, and we’ve got a great kitchen here. ![]() Jane EkeLifestyle LeadI’ve worked as an activity coordinator in care homes since 2012 but joined the team at Knebworth after a recommendation from a friend. ![]() Claudia BeianClinical Services ManagerI’m a Registered Nurse and experienced Clinical lead. I previously worked for Care UK, and returned in 2020 because it’s such a well organised and well run company, with a great reputation for quality care, and for supporting residents, relatives and colleagues. ![]() Colette Moreira-HenocqResidential Care ManagerI’ve worked for Care UK since 2017 when Knebworth Care Home became part of Care UK’s portfolio of homes. I was a Senior Healthcare Assistant prior to that. ![]() Donna BirdBusiness AdministratorI started working at Care UK in 2012 as I knew the company had a good development programme ![]() SidFeline Relations ManagerI’m from the local area and started to visit Knebworth in the summer of 2018. I rather liked all the fuss that was made of me here, so I decided to make it my permanent home a couple of months later. At the start, I had a few showdowns with Poppy the resident dog, but she now knows who’s boss. |

Activities Are So Important |
---|
At Knebworth we encourage residents to mix socially, but we also understand that some residents prefer one-to-one time with their favourite carer or member of the team. Everything we do is decided by residents and we like to keep things spontaneous. We’ll alter planned activities if people are in the mood to do something else. We’ll also make the most of a nice day by enjoying our lovely garden – whatever residents are keen to do. Our dedicated Lifestyle teams organises activities, entertainment, outings and experiences tailored to your loved one’s interests and hobbies. We also understand that group activities aren’t for everyone so we will spend one to one time with your loved one if that's what they'd prefer. |
