Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

All Care UK homes now have purpose-built internal or external visiting suites available which enable visits to take place from behind a sealed glass panel, using a sound system to assist with communication. Where Government guidance and local health teams allow, these suites make it possible to continue visiting even when we have a case of Covid-19 in the home.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Customer Relations Manager

I’ve worked in a range of sectors, including publishing, automotive and financial services, but when I saw this opportunity come up, I was really excited about the idea of working in care. Care UK’s values chime with my own. I’m passionate about delivering excellent customer service, improving people’s lives and making a difference.

There’s a brilliant team here at Foxbridge House, and I’m enjoying getting to know everyone, including the residents, as well as potential residents and their families. When families come to us looking for care, they’re often under a lot of pressure, so I get a huge sense of satisfaction from listening to their needs and providing advice and information.

Head Chef

I joined the Foxbridge House team in late 2019. Id spent many years working in large hotels and busy restaurants in London and in the Caribbean, and I wanted to try something a bit different that would bring me a greater sense of job satisfaction. While it was great working in this places, I do see my role as Head Chef here at Foxbridge House as a career highlight.

Lifestyle Lead

I haven’t looked back since I joined Foxbridge House in 2013. I thought it would be lovely to have a new, fresh start in a new build care home. I worked as a care assistant and I’m a moving and handling trainer now, so I have a number of strings to my bow!
To be a good activities coordinator you need to enjoy your role as well as being with people. I love singing, entertaining and making people happy, and I love spending time with all the residents and seeing them smile, it’s so rewarding.

Debra Holland

Head Housekeeper

I worked in hospitality before I joined the Foxbridge House team in 2013. Moving into the care sector was a complete change for me, but I have never looked back.
The residents and their families are what make this job for me. I take pride in building a good rapport with people and I’ve got to know many of the residents really well. Talking to them, making them smile and learning more about their lives makes my day.

Activities Are So Important

Our activity co-ordinators plan weekly activities, including arts and crafts, pamper days, gardening, reminiscence sessions, singalongs and quizzes so that there’s something to appeal to everyone.

Residents at the care home get very involved in the running of the home. So at any time you may find them helping to run our flower arranging, art or cookery clubs or watering the plants. Our in-house cinema is a great success and one of our residents runs the cinema club, organising and publicising the film showings.

Foxbridge House residents have a soft spot for animals and furry and feathered friends. The local stables have stopped by with horses and ponies. The Foxbridge House gardens are a haven for wild bird life too, and we often spot a fox passing through – proof that our home is well named.
