Susan Smith is Care Home Manager at Fitzwarren House.
At Fitzwarren House, we provide residential dementia and general nursing care for our 64 residents in purpose-built, en suite accommodation.
It’s a wonderfully calm space, with innovative use of colour, designed to help us deliver personalised care in a warm, supportive and safe environment. We also offer respite care if we have availability.
We have our own hair and nail salon for a spot of pampering and our coffee lounge is the perfect place to meet with friends.
Our beautifully landscaped gardens, patios and summer house are lovely areas to relax. There’s the added bonus of an abundance of wild birds and animals to watch, from the neighbouring Stanton Park.

We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled. All our bedrooms have an en suite wet room with toilet and sink, and some rooms enjoy lovely garden views. We have a call system which can be operated by a hand control or a pendant depending on personal preference. All floors are secured by keypad coding to ensure that residents are safe and secure at all times. |
