Lynsey Robbie is Manager at Pitkerro Care Centre.
Lynsey brings over two decades of nursing expertise to her role as Care Home Manager. A registered general nurse, her journey began within the NHS, where she honed her skills in intensive care and medical wards. Driven by a desire for more personalized elderly care, she transitioned to the private sector, steadily progressing from nursing to being a regional manager. More recently, and luckily for us, Lynsey now just wants to focus on being the manager of Pitkerro, a home where she knows everyone by name.
Lynsey’s commitment is evident in her hands-on approach; the home has zero agency staff, something most Dundee nursing homes are unable to match but when nurses have been absent through illness, Lynsey has been know to volunteer to fill the gap! She loves the work and this also helps her to remain connected to the daily realities of care. Her focus extends beyond management, as she prioritizes creating a warm, homely environment where residents feel valued and supported.
Anyone for a cuppa and a blather? That's the vibe at Pitkerro Care Centre in Dundee. We're not just about care; we're about creating a real home-from-home, a place where everyone feels part of something. Overlooking Finlathern Park, in the north of Dundee and adjacent to the Dighty Burn, it's a pretty sweet spot. We're all about looking after folks, whether they need a bit of help with day-to-day life or a bit more nursing support.
We've got a brilliant team of nurses and carers who are patient, empathetic and all round good eggs, and they're here to help with all sorts of things. The ethos of the home is that every staff member from the manager to the maintenance worker has a part to play the overall feel of the home. From dementia and stroke care to Parkinson's, MS, MND, and Huntington's disease, we've got you covered with companionship, support and personal nursing care. Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
