Meet The Manager

Maxine Smith is The Home Manager at Chilton Care Centre.

My name is Maxine I am 50 years old and have recently taken on the role of manager at St Philips care, I live in Ferryhill which is local to the home in Chilton. I began my caring career in 2004 after caring for my grandma, I gained experience and completed my NVQ 2 and 3 but also completed a level 3 in Palliative care and End of Life Care, I moved onto a senior role in 2006 and stayed in my first home for 10years before moving to Chilton Care Home to begin as a senior in 2014 I took the post of Deputy in 2017 till February 2021 when I applied to be Manager. I love working in care and pride myself on the love care and dignity we offer to our residents, my passion is Palliative care and to provide all our residents with a choice, excellent care, and Dignity in their final days months years as it can be a scary time for both resident and their families. I like to think I am a supportive manager with a lot of empathy, and a good mentor to the staff I work alongside.
