Claire Picchi is Manager at Charnwood House.
Claire has been with MHA for 8 years and has a passion for dementia.
Charnwood House care home, based in Coventry’s peaceful Radford area, provides specialist residential dementia care for up to 65 older adults. Established in 2004, the home offers a warm and inviting environment supported by a skilled team focused on personalised care. Its location offers a balance of quiet green spaces and easy access to local shops and city life.
Residents benefit from bespoke care plans that may include support with hospital discharge, rehabilitation, and tailored therapies such as occupational or speech therapy. The caring staff work closely with each individual to create a nurturing space that promotes comfort and independence.
With a strong focus on quality and safety, Charnwood House stays aligned with the latest CQC standards. Residents enjoy a secure, respectful home environment where dignity and wellbeing are always prioritised.

Your loved one can enjoy our beautifully landscaped gardens, or relax in the sunshine on the patio areas. The hair salon offers an opportunity for a spot of pampering, and we have carers trained in reflexology. Residents enjoy our memory corners, with pictures of the old Coventry dance halls and an old record player that we often play music from. We also have a dedicated chaplain at Charnwood House. From the moment you come through our door, it’s down to us to make you and your loved one feel truly at home. Our wider care home environment enriches and inspires. Shared lounges and dining rooms provide an opportunity to enjoy time with friends within our tightly knit home community. |

We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled. All our bedrooms have a full en suite wet room with toilet and sink. If your loved one enjoys catching up with the latest news, sport, chat shows or soaps, we can provide a TV in their room on request, and there’s WiFi throughout the home. |

At Charnwood House, our music therapists interact with residents through sing-alongs, playing simple percussion instruments and responding to musical cues in either a one-to-one or group setting. These sessions often prove to be truly life-enhancing, helping people to unlock special memories and express their feelings and emotions. |
