Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We take no shortcuts when it comes to safety measures, particularly concerning COVID-19. All surfaces are regularly disinfected, staff are highly trained and experienced in sanitisation and the practices of infection control. The highest amount of care is put into our safety and hygiene protocols. Our staff undergo regular testing for COVID-19, and we operate a stringent testing policy for new residents. Any new resident is required to take a coronavirus test – a negative result means they can move in immediately and receive in-room care for 14 days, and a positive result requires them to stay at home for a further 14 days before moving in.

Residents are tested every 4 weeks in England – in Scotland and Wales, tests are only required if a resident develops symptoms or a staff member tests positive for COVID-19. As testing capacity increases, we’ll be able to test more frequently in order to make our homes even safer and more comfortable for residents and staff.

All visitors are requested to LFT test before entering the home.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

We pride ourselves on making our care homes as lively and full of activities as possible, so residents always have the option to socialise during any day of the week. Our beautiful garden features a summer house, swings and an outdoor eating area for residents to relax with visitors.

We are immensely proud of the menus we have on offer, as we include a variety of nutritious and tasty food – whilst also providing old favourites. Our dedicated kitchen staff can also cater for special diets with three preparation kitchens alongside a cafe in the foyer where residents can make their own drinks and sample home-baked goods. Friends and family can visit at any time they please, however, we do recommend avoiding the residents’ meal times so there is minimal disruption.
