What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

With lockdown restrictions easing, and life slowly getting back to normal, we at Bridgewater Home Care want to assure everyone we work with that the safety of our clients and team continues to be our top priority. Currently we are still continuing to maintain all government guidelines, with staff wearing full PPE at all times and carrying out testing each week to ensure we keep our staff and our clients safe.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 crisis in early 2020, Bridgewater Home Care have worked tirelessly to ensure that their clients have been receiving the help and support they need whilst maintaining Covid-safe policies and procedures.

All staff and care specialists have been thoroughly trained on best practice when both working in the Bridgewater Home Care offices and when visiting clients in their own homes. The safety of our clients and carers has been our top priority over the past year and we have continued to deliver our usual care and support safely in the community, enhancing the lives of those individuals living at home during these times.

All the staff at Bridgewater Home Care take a test for COVID-19 every week and ensure that everyone remains safe and healthy when carrying out services to clients. The team are dedicated to maintaining the safety and wellbeing of both employees and clients, and ensure they go ‘Above and Beyond’ to reassure both clients and their families that it is our upmost priority to keep everyone protected against the virus.

Bridgewater Home Care can reassure all existing and potential clients that their staff and care specialists are still able to deliver the essential support services under ‘key worker’ status. They will continue to deliver the much-needed help and support through such difficult times, in the comfort of our client’s own homes, ensuring full PPE is worn at all times.

The Importance Of Meal Times

Nutrition plays an important part in later life in enhancing physical and mental health, as well as improving wellbeing and quality of life. Our diets and water consumption contribute greatly towards a healthy and happy life, improving how we feel, our energy levels, and our abilities to continue doing what we love.

At Bridgewater Home Care we provide a tailored service to each client based on their likes and dislikes, preferences and tastes so that we can help your loved one remain healthy and happy in the comfort of their own home. We encourage a healthy balanced diet and can help with all food related support including:

  • Food shopping
  • Meal preparation
  • Weekly meal planning
  • Assistance with cooking
  • Advice with nutrition and diet
  • Organising cupboards and food stock

We want food and mealtimes to continue to be an exciting part of the day for our clients and encourage requests for meals that they have always loved to continue making food a highlight of their day!

We also ensure any dietary requirements or intolerances are taken into account with each meal. Our Care Specialists will adapt food plans as necessary to provide meals that suit your loved one. As needs or tastes change, we will keep account of these and incorporate alternative dishes into their food plan.

If you are worried that your loved one may not be getting the regular healthy, nutritious meals they need, our Care Specialists can help to plan and prepare recipes that will leave your loved one content and satisfied. We also aim to put families’ minds at ease knowing that their loved one is receiving the correct dietary support and water consumption.

Activities Are So Important

At Bridgewater Home Care we aim to keep interests and hobbies alive through many activities available through our Companionship service. Whether it’s board games, gardening, cooking or more niche interests, our Care Specialists can offer the vital mental and physical stimulation for your loved one, from the comfort of their home.

It is just as important to us as it is to you that your loved one is able to continue doing what they love during their later years. Continuing to live at home has huge benefits as activities and hobbies can be carried out at their leisure, when and how they like. Our Care Specialists can assist with any activities from the home and love seeing just how happy it makes our clients and their families.

Not only do activities add variety into one’s day, they also provide much needed mental stimulation to keep the brain active, as well as physical activity needed to keep muscles and joints moving. We see just how beneficial activities and hobbies can be to our clients and one of the best things about doing what we do is seeing how we can transform someone’s day by assisting them to take part in their interests.

Activities can be integrated into your loved one’s care plan as part of our Companionship service to supplement other services you receive, such as personal care or specialist care. There is nothing we love more than putting a smile on your loved one’s face and providing you with the peace of mind that they are happy at home!
