Meet The Manager

Beverley Davies is Home Manager at Torrwood Care Centre.

Bev worked as a nurse manager in the NHS prior to moving into Care Homes. She has been at Torrwood for eleven years.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, Torrwood is a modern, purpose-built care home located three miles away from the cathedral city of Wells. Here we provide nursing and dementia specialist care in an environment designed for your ease of access and comfort, with an on-site dedicated staff team to provide you with round the clock care and support. Taking its name from the springs in the area, Wells has the interesting distinction of being England’s smallest city. Its 13th century cathedral is just one of its beautiful old buildings, with others including St Cuthbert’s Church and the Bishop’s Palace.

safe-tick Independent Assessments We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

Spiritual needs vary as we each experience wellbeing and fulfilment in different ways. That’s why, at Torrwood, we offer so many opportunities to foster relationships and positive experiences – from developing new skills and fulfilling personal ambitions to creative pursuits and trips out. All MHA’s care homes have a designated Chaplain who is available for private conversations on any matter close to your heart, and arranges worship services for those who wish to attend. As part of MHA’s desire to offer the very best in later life, we also provide additional therapies such as reflexology for your well-being. These gentle one-to-one sessions aim to bring calm and relaxation.
